DorktownEpisode106

Welcome to you, Fresnan reader. It's time again for another Dorktown Podcast. Bells, Producer Becky and Mikey hang out, drink, cuss, talk about Fresno and what's going on in their tiny world. Here is a sample of what you'll… hear:

  • Why would anybody leave Fresno for beer?
  • Inspired by Mike Oz's column, Dorktown tries to figure out if its a good Fresnan.
  • Manchester Steakhouse is your home now.
  • MUSIC BREAK: Motel Drive "Drifter Blues"
  • There's another podcast to deal with.
  • A drunk call from Phoenix must be dealt with.
  • Trent & Mikey get nerdy with some Greedo talk.
  • FONZY EYYS!

In Fresno Tonight: Andrew Jackson Jihad, Kepi Ghoulie, Partners In 818 and The Giddy-Ups @ Starline

Andrewjacksonfinal

Good to have Fresno's music week starting early with this show tonight at Starline, since last weekend was the deadest [band wise] we've ever seen (hence no Bandgeek post). Let's see, what do we have tonight…

  • Andrew Jackson Jihad. They are from Phoenix and hit on music styles like anti-folk, punk, indie and rock.
  • Kepi Ghoulie. Lead singer from the now disbanded Sacramento band Groovie Ghoulies. We're guessing Kepi is doing something Groovie-esque now.
  • Partners In 818. We think it's safe to say they are the first Prescott, Arizona band to come through Fresno. They like to play the punk rock.
  • The Giddy-Ups! Whoo hoo, a Fresno band representing. The G-Ups like to mix a little pop in with their punk.

Here's Andrew Jackson Jihad havin' fun with some Redlands U' peeps;
