Music In Fresno Tonight: The Shrine, David Liebe Hart and free Cabin Fires

Theshrine

>At Audie's Olympic, another killer show by Love The Captive. Los Angeles "psychedelic violence" band The Shrine with local favorites It'll Grow Back. Skateboard mag, Thrasher, calls The Shrine “A hard-hitting three-piece, combining the hooks and tones of classic rock with the energy and stage presence of a thrash band." Sounds kick ass to us. Get a little deeper with The Shine:

>Also happening for those that can't get into Audie's or for those that do not fear China Town, very good show at C.A.F.E. Infoshop as David Liebe Hart (yes, the dude you've seen on Adult Swim's "Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job") returns to Fresno. Lot's of local acts too including Danny Lango, Fatty Cakes, Restaurnaut, I Do Not Exist and Gorilla Stomp. [$7, 7pm, All Ages]

>Not to be forgotten, down in Babylon, a free show with TheDaysGone & Cabin Fire! Show starts at 9pm and is 21+.

Meeting Today Could Decide Whether The Bel-Tower Stays Open

Over the weekend, the Fresno PD and Alcohol Beverage Control, shut down all ages music venue The Bel-Tower. Citing a lack of proper permits. Bel-Tower volunteers are meeting at Noon today with ABC to see what can be done to re-open the place. Fresno PD and the City Of Fresno has never been to welcoming to all ages clubs, but hopefully something can get worked out. We'd hate to lose a music venue in town.

The Bel-Tower folks put a humble video together – very much worth watching – to illustrate what they mean to the all-ages music crowd:

New Music Tuesday: Farooq

773199172-1

They just played THREE shows in Fresno over the NYE weekend, so you might have caught them: Farooq. They play a mix of hardcore and "punk rap" so their new EP "Walk It Off" might not be for everyone, but we like the shit out of it. "Let It Ride" is our favorite at the moment.

Have a listen and if you likes at all, they have it set-up as a "name your price" kinda a thing. So what the heck? Buy it:

They'll be doing some more shows this month, including one in Bakersfield and ChowChillllla, so check 'em out when ya can.

New Music Tuesday: The Normandys “Dave’s Balls Are The New Coke”

This Tuesday brings us some pop-punk stuff from a new band that features dudes that were/are in a lot of other Fresno groups. Such as: The Giddy-Ups, The Sci-Fi Nightmares, The Midnight Howlers, The Little Triggers, Victimless Crime and many more.

The new bad is called The Normandys and they are working on a full length EP (if you can call a EP full-lengthed), but they released a song off it a little early called "Dave's Balls Are The New Coke" – We all knew this to be true, glad someone finally said it in song:
